Meet the Dolphins of Talamanca !Dolphin_watching.gif (29413 bytes)

Interpretive Dolphin Trips are available every morning from Manzanillo, Costa Rica, weather permitting. You may schedule these by calling, e-mailing, or stopping at the Talamanca Dolphin Foundation office in Manzanillo. You will receive an orientation to the dolphins of the area. Then a trained, local guide and boat captain will take you on a short boat ride along the pristine coast to the natural habitat of the wild dolphins. There you will have a very high probability of observing one or more of the three species of dolphins engaged one or more of their natural behaviors- feeding, resting, traveling, being social, aerial leaps, playing, or mating. Because these dolphins are wild, we never know what to expect, but are rarely disappointed. You may even see "Smoosh", "Curvé", "Snowcap", or another of our other well-known dolphin friends!

Be A Research Volunteer !

Join our research team in recording behavioral and environmental data with the dolphins from a small boat, help review and enter data into a computer program, and other related tasks as needed. You may join a scheduled research group, or arrange an individual experience with our research staff, during certain times of the year. Research Volunteers help support the on-going research with their time and financial contribution. Staff will be happy to coordinate with your college or university for credit, if arranged by you in advance. Contact us for more information.Education.gif (31029 bytes)

Volunteers may also help the Talamanca Dolphin Foundation in other ways- assisting in the TDF office, computer work, setting up displays or giving out information to visitors to the Dolphin Education Center, working with local school children in marine education activities, helping with scheduled groups at the Dolphin Lodge, and other related activities.
